Vineland Estates Winery is located on the 20-Mile Bench of the Niagara Escarpment. It features a 5 star restaurant, wine shop, carriage house, barrel cellar and bed & breakfast.
Rich in history and fascinating architecture, it has been operating for over 30 years. In fact, according to the New York Times, “the winery buildings include a 19th-century stone tower that was once part of a Mennonite homestead.”
The restaurant, a renovated farmhouse from 1845, is one of the main attractions, and it is not hard to see why. Let us begin with the food. Lunch & dinner, the ingredients are always fresh and obtained from local purveyors.
As good as the food is, what makes this a special place is the combination of gourmet cuisine with superb service. Above all, the wine, this is wine country, after all. Pair your charcuterie or cheese plate with a refreshing Chardonnay, or a smoky Pinot Noir.
And as you take in the intoxicating beverages and aromas, you will also get a chance to take in the amazing view. The combination of large windows, natural sunlight, a panoramic view of rolling vineyards and the woods of the Niagara Escarpment, along with the Toronto skyline in the distance across Lake Ontario, makes for an unforgettable dining experience.
And after the meal, stop by at the wine shop on your way out and treat yourself to a special bottle from a large selection of the finest vintages.
